Hastelloy C276 Pipe is made up of a nickel molybdenum chromium alloy that has superior corrosion resistance properties. The material is resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion attacks. The addition of tungsten to the composition of the Hastelloy C276 Pipe makes it one of the most versatile corrosion resistant alloys in the world.
The Alloy C276 Seamless Tube can range in size from 15 inches to 150 inches. The schedules vary from sch5 through sch160 and the pressure ratings of the schedules vary as well. There are hydraulic pipes and round pipe types. The UNS N10276 Tubing can be plain ended, treaded or bevel ended. The material has carbon, manganese, silicon, iron, phosphorus, sulfur and cobalt as well. This composition provides the material with high melting point at 1370 degrees Celsius. The minimum yield strength of the Hastelloy C276 Seamless Pipe is 355MPa and the minimum tensile strength is 790MPa. The material is also dense with 8.89 grams per centimeter cube. Hastelloy C-276 round bar is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium super alloy with an
addition of tungsten designed to have excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range
of severe environments. Alloy C276 has excellent corrosion resistance in both
oxidizing and reducing environments.
Alloy C-276 hastelloy is resistant to stress corrosion cracking, general corrosion,
crevice corrosion and pitting in a wide range of severe environments. The hastelloy
C 276 composition allows it to have exceptional resistance to sulfuric acid and
hydrochloric acid. Hastelloy C276 has excellent resistance to strong oxidizers like
ferric and cupric chlorides.

These are all very resistant to sulfide stress corrosion cracking and can be used in acidic mixtures and acid production in the chemical industries. The specification for the fittings of this grade is ASTM B366 and there are ASME B16.9 dimensions ranging in nominal bore sizes from 1/8 inches to 48 inches. The Hastelloy c276 forged fittings are forged from a single piece of the raw material and they can come in different radiuses. The bending radius of the fittings is calculated in relation to the pipe’s outer diameter and there are 1D through 10D bending radiuses.
There are different types of fittings such as the Hastelloy C-276 Equal Tee which connects three equally sized pipes. There are also unequal tees and other fittings. All the fittings including the Hastelloy C276 Cross Pipe Fittings have good yield strength of minimum 355MPa and minimum tensile strength of 790MPa. The primary alloying base materials for the Hastelloy C276 includes metals like
nickel, molybdenum & chromium. Apart from these three metals, the Hastelloy C276
Fasteners is added with tungsten.Addition of tungsten in the super alloy is known to
increase the alloy’s corrosion resistance to a wide range of severe environments.
The high nickel and molybdenum content in the ASTM B574 UNS N10276 is known to
improve the mechanical as well as the physical properties of the alloy. The nickel
in the Alloy C276 Fasteners increases its resistant to general corrosion like
pitting and crevice corrosion in reductive chemical containing environments. While
chromium in the Alloy C276 Bolts conveys resistance to oxidizing media. Chromium
forms a passivate oxide layer over the surface of the Hastelloy C276 Socket Head Cap
Screws thereby preventing corrosion in oxidative environments.
The low carbon content in the Hastelloy C276 Set Screws minimizes carbide
precipitation. During welding, reduced carbide precipitation aids in maintaining the
corrosion resistance of the Hastelloy C276 Nuts in as-welded structures. Since the
Hastelloy C276 Hex Bolts are resistant to the formation of grain boundary
precipitate in the weld heat-affected zone, these fasteners are well suited for
applications in most chemical processes in an as welded condition. Hastelloy C-276
is one of the most commonly used nickel alloys, despite there being several
variations of the Hastelloy nickel alloy available in the market.
