Inconel 718 Round Bar is a nickel chromium alloy bar that has up to 55% nickel in the composition. The content includes 17% chromium, 4.9% niobium, 6.6% iron minimum and aluminum, boron, carbon, cobalt, copper, manganese, phosphorus, lead, sulfur and silicon. The Inconel 718 Flat Bar and other types of bars also have tantalum and titanium for stabilization. The material has 1375MPa ultimate tensile strength and 1100MPa minimum yield strength. There are different types such as the Inconel 718 Hex Bar, square bar, rod, round bar and flat bar. All these types have specific application purposes and have slightly different mechanical properties. The 2.4668 Alloy 718 Rod is durable, ductile and highly corrosion resistant. It is used in gas turbines, valves in subsurface safety tools, industrial grade fasteners, thrust reverser components and in aircraft engines.

Grade 718 Inconel Flange is the most common grade of the hardenable Inconel. This precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy combines outstanding corrosion resistance and high strength at elevated temperatures. The alloy is an about 2x as strong as Inconel grade 625 having excellent creep-rupture strength at temperatures to 1300°F (700°C) and usable up to 1800°F (982°C). Inconel grade 718 is often used in gas turbines, rocket motors, spacecraft, nuclear reactors, pumps, and tooling.

This alloy was formed as a result of nearly a decade of study into a Nickel Chromium Molybdenum Niobium (Ni-Cr-Mo) superalloy known as Inconel 625. . In contrast to the other precipitation hardening nickel alloys, this one has good weldability, formability, and cryogenic properties. Because of its slow precipitation hardening reaction, this alloy can be welded without hardening or cracking. Alloy 718 has no electrical properties. It is robust corrosion and oxidation resistance and is employed for components that need robust creep and stress rupture resistance up to 1300°F (704°C) and oxidation resistance up to 1800°F (982°C) temperaturesIn the automotive industry, Nickel Alloy 718 Sheet plate is the most used steel commodity.
